News from the Bohemian Forest Courier
The journey, which lasts a good hour, takes you through several tunnels and the magnificent Šumava landscape with beautiful views of the Bohemian town of Klattau - a gem at the foot of the Šumava.
Founded after 1260, the town once belonged to the richest towns in Bohemia. Today's visitors are attracted not only by its historic Old Town with the Black Tower, Town Hall or the magnificent Jesuit Church, but also by the Baroque Pharmacy, unique in Europe, the newly renovated catacombs with mummies of the monks of the Jesuit Order or the Glass Pavilion, newly opened in 2014, with the unique exhibition of Art Nouveau glass.
"The city is really worth seeing!"
