UNDERSTANDING NATURE THROUGH PLAY:
Nowhere else in the Bavarian Forest National Park does this work as splendidly as in the FOREST PLAY AREA. The 50-hectare adventure area has countless adventures in store. Just the thing for a family outing - whatever the season! Three exciting areas are waiting to be explored.
NATURE ADVENTURE TRAIL:
Visitors can experience unusual insights into the forest at ten interesting stations. Make music with natural materials, feel plants, feel the forest floor barefoot, discover the diversity of dead wood, smell natural scents or simply pause for a moment: All of this is possible on the two-kilometre-long nature discovery trail. And it's not just the little ones who will have fun.
Free booklets with lots of exciting tasks are available at the Spiegelau tourist information office, the Hans-Eisenmann-Haus and the Haus zur Wildnis and at the main entrance to the forest play area.
PLAY GROUNDS:
Feel like really letting off steam again? Then the playgrounds are the perfect place. You can slide, climb, play or swing to your heart's content. There is even a rope slide. Einige der Attraktionen sind – wie große Teile der Wege im Waldspielgelände – barrierearm gehalten. Please note that most of the play equipment is dismantled in winter.
WALDWIESE:
Centrally located, the forest meadow offers plenty of space to run around. Forscher können im Tümpel Libellen suchen oder den emsigen Betrieb am Insektenhotel beobachten. There is also a fire pit and shelter for bad weather. In der kalten Jahreszeit lassen sich auf der Wiese übrigens prima Iglus und Schneeskulpturen bauen.
