Vom Wald das Beste. – Nationalparkregion Bayerischer Wald
Autumn the best season!

Autumn the best season!

Underestimated by many: The autumn season! Still this season has a bad reputation with many people, we find this totally unfounded and will also convince you!

From the COLOR GAME the best.

The forest wraps itself in a warm, colourful dress of leaves and enchants every nature lover. This feast for the eyes alone would be reason enough to choose autumn as the best season.

The best of CLIMATE.

The golden autumn - we say perfect hiking weather! In contrast to the summer, where constant heat is the companion on hiking tours and thus makes some tours more difficult, the autumn with its, in comparison, pleasant temperatures offers optimal conditions for a beautiful hiking tour through the colorful autumn forest! And should it actually drizzle a little during the golden autumn days, we recommend choosing a tour here even more. The colours appear even more intense and the light mist makes the forest and the mountain ranges look totally mystical.

From the CULINARY the best.

Oh, the culinary autumn prepares absolute palate joy for you! Various markets for Thanksgiving, wine festivals, game weeks or the traditional church fair offer you very special delicacies!

The best of WELLNESS.

If you want to take a break from hiking and feasting, let yourself be pampered and enjoy a soothing massage or sauna session in one of our fantastic accommodations.

Still not convinced? Then come and see for yourself! If you still need inspiration and ideas, you can find special tips for autumn 2019 in the Bavarian Forest National Park holiday region here:

For example the goat farm Röckl, the sheep farm Heyn from Neuschönau, the game park Maier with deer specialities from Eppenschlag, the trout farm at the Klopfenbach Franz Buchecker, or products from the Lallinger Winkel, just to name a few.

Autumn market Buchenau Castle in Lindberg

Sun, 03.10.2021 from 11-18 o'clock

In previous years, the focus of the market was on culinary delights! The food offered in the castle courtyard was seasonal to meet the demands of regional, traditional and artisanal production.

This year, unfortunately, we do not yet have the Corona-adapted program. Therefore, it is also still open whether hospitality will take place.
