Vom Wald das Beste. – Nationalparkregion Bayerischer Wald

Cross-border joy as far as the Czech Republic

The community Lindberg is located at the foot of the second highest mountain of Zwieseler Winkel: Mount Großer Falkenstein with an altitude of 1,315 metres. The charming scenery is characterised by conifers and rare wild animals. Lindberg offers its young and elderly guests both in summer and in winter numerous leisure activities: from nature to sport to traditional glass art.

Along the western border of the holiday region lies the placid community Lindberg. It nestles among the most beautiful mountains of Lower Bavaria. Here, the visitors are offered a wide range of leisure activities and unique beauties of nature. The pristine forest areas, meadows and moorland are habitats for endangered plants and animals. The facilities of the National Park with animal enclosure and wilderness camp at Falkenstein give you an insight into the colourful flora and fauna of the Bavarian Forest. Children can romp around in and around the “Haus zur Wildnis”.

The large network of fascinating hiking and cycling paths offers various tours of all degree of difficulty. At the end of the routes a breath-taking panorama awaits the visitors. A sporty challenge is also the 18-hole golf facility in the village Oberzwieselau.

An inside tip for the cold season: Extensive winter hiking paths and cross-country ski trails allows for crossing the border into the neighbouring Czech Republic. Culture vultures also get their money’s worth by visiting the palaces of Buchenau and Ludwigsthal with their silent contemporary witnesses of the glass art epoch.
