The cosy atmosphere and hospitality of the people from Langdorf make the community in the heart of the Bavarian Forest a very special experience. Relaxing leisure time facilities and the beauty of nature see to grounding in the daily routine. Langdorf is interesting regarding its history as well as its landscape; its history goes back to the noble houses of the Wittelsbacher.

Right under the Green Roof of Europe, there is Langdorf in the westernmost corner of the holiday region National Park Bavarian Forest. In the state-approved resort there are numerous opportunities to spend your summer or winter holiday. The 20 metre high observation tower at Schönecker Riegel offers a breath-taking panorama of the mountain range of the Bavarian Forest. Many kilometres of signposted hiking paths and circular hiking path, rolled in winter, as well as Nordic-Walking-trails arouse the holiday-maker’s desire for movement. A further attraction is the 4-kilometre reptile path that gives an interesting insight into the local reptiles’ way of life.

Also, cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs and curling fields are at the disposal of winter fans in Langdorf. In the immediate vicinity, chair lifts and tow lifts take alpine skiers up to the slope. The nearby cross-country centres “Am Bretterschachten” and “Schöneck” are an Eldorado for cross-country skiing fans. Ski courses, snow-shoe and torch hikes round off the winter programme.

Far away from noise and environmental pollution, guests can really relax and enjoy the original nature of the Bavarian Forest. In the sense of nature conservation, the community chose the adder to be their mascot and created some wild biotopes and refuges for protected species.
