Simply limitless - that's how the hiking possibilities in the Bavarian Forest National Park holiday region appear. Explore the varied and exciting hiking world in and around the National Park - many hundreds of kilometres of well signposted circular and destination hiking trails make our low mountain range landscape one of the most popular hiking regions in Central Europe. Whether you want to climb one of our Bavarian Forest mountains Rachel, Lusen, Falkenstein or Arber, enjoy the magnificent panoramic tours or get a deep insight into the holiday region on the various theme trails - the possibilities seem almost unlimited.
For hikers the best.
In the two animal enclosures in the Lusen and Falkenstein National Park Centres you can observe and discover the fascinating animal world: In the large enclosure zones, which are modelled on natural habitats, wolves, lynxes, brown bears, moose and many other animal species can live according to their own daily rhythms - climbing, bathing, resting or even withdrawing completely.
Übernachten in der Region
An absolute top hiking trail is the premium hiking trail Goldsteig, which runs through the Bavarian Forest and the holiday region. On a total of 660 km, from Marktredwitz to Passau, you can discover the originality and special features of the Bavarian Forest holiday region.
Of course, the Goldsteig also opens up the Bavarian Forest National Park holiday region and in combination with the main route, which leads over the Bavarian Forest mountains Arber, Falkenstein, Rachel and Lusen, among others, our hiking guests can hike a complete Goldsteig circuit in the holiday region with the so-called alternative route.
